I am looking for some advice?

My daughter had her baby son a year ago in the International hospital, we were given no advice about registering the baby for its birth certificate!!!!

My daughter is married to an Egyptian who has been trying to register him since he was born, but as of yet my daughter still has no birth certificate for her baby boy. Her husband says this is common in Sharm, but I have not heard of this before a baby being without its birth certificate by its first birthday?????!!!!!!!????

My daughters husband keeps being sent to Cairo, El Tor and Sharm, then back to the International hospital, he is being sent round in circles, has anybody else had this problem or is it just our family???

My daughter is English and I was wondering if this was the problem?

I would be most gratefull for any advice.

I had my baby in the Medical Centre, they gave us a paper which my husband took to the Insurance Office in Sharm and we got an Egyptian Birth Certificate and Medical Insurance. This enabled us to register him with the British Embassy so our son has dual nationality.

Thanks for the reply, did you get this piece of paper from the medical centre as soon as your baby was born.

As my daughter was not given anything when she had her baby and as I said it is now a year and her baby has no birth certifcate, she also wanted to register him with the british embassy but without a egyptian birth certficate she cannot!!!

Yes we got the paper when our baby was born but I am sure if you go to the hospital they will give you a paper now, maybe if you take the receipt of the costs you paid when your daughter gave birth.
