Could anybody give me tips for a trip to Jordan and Petra?!
E.g. hotels, rental cars, special tours (suitable for elderly people)? Anybody knows whether and how it is possible to go with ones own car (private SS plates) to Jordan?

Flights are every Friday, if not changed.
Bus trip I think is offered by several agencies according to demand.
A very long day trip.

What exactly are you looking at? Several days I understand.
Why not going by car? I think it needs only something from the automobile club (although do not know where is the next automobile club for Sharmers???).
Otherwise is/ was relatively easy.

Petra is quite a walk. Many Hotels are nearby, but unfortunately my stay had been many years back and do not remember names. Check tripadvisor with some good comments. I am not 100% sure, but think stayed long time ago at
Taybet Zaman Hotel... no idea of course how it is now.

Google is the best search engine, there you can search anything. You should write in goole too, bar "Tips for JORDAN trip" then it will give you big list for travels. Hope its best provided you better knowledge to you for travels.
