Hi everyone

The reason for my posting is very important as i am coming to Sharm very soon with a view to moving out there & have gone as far as to book an agent for viewing Apts to rent
[i am coming out 1st to check & Apts & was planning to move within the month }
I have been doing so much research & have been told by people that it is very safe place .. but i spent all last night on this site reading so many comments from women that have had really BAD things happen to them .. then i noticed these links were dated 2007
Can u tell me if things have improved now ?
Is Sharm safe enough for a single woman to live ?

I would really appreciate very honest opinions .. thks

Firstly I should say that I'm married and have lived here for just over five years.

My husband works 12 hours a day so I spend a lot of time on my own or going out unaccompanied. I am pleased to say that during this time I have never had what can be classed as a bad experience just the usual chat up lines from shopkeepers, taxi drivers and such like. Also I should add that I have never felt threatened or unsafe here. :D

It maybe brief but this is my honest response to your question, hope it helps?

Hi although I dont yet live in Sharm I have an apartment in Nabq and I have often stayed on my own.

i agree with Wendy and I feel safer walking around Sharm at night than what I would in the UK.

Just be on your guard and take precautions you would in the UK eg dont godown unlit roads or alleys etc in the dark on your own.

Always have a mobile with you and if you do get any hassle especially sexual harrassment then make sure you report it to the police.

Im sure you will not regret your decision and all the very best.

Hi Desres you are welcome. Yes Nabq is alot lot quieter than Naama but it is up and coming. Yes that is me!

My eldest daugher is moving out to live in Nabq in 2 weeks. She doesnt know anyone but she has been to Nabq before and I feel comfortable with her going as long as she heeds some warnings and keeps her wits about her she will be fine xx
